Chapter 8 Summary

 Chapter 8 very broadly covers some HTML, CSS, and JavaScript content, as well as steps to take to promote your website and get it noticed by search engines. While I have a small amount of HTML and CSS knowledge, JavaScript is something I’ve yet to try my hand at, although I would like to at some point! My first time messing with HTML was in 9th or 10th grade, and I remember being very underwhelmed by how the results looked - since this was before I touched any CSS, I was stuck with whatever HTML provided, and I ended up not really touching web design again until about 2 or 3 years ago. That’s when I finally started learning some CSS, and that drastically changed my outlook on making websites; as it turns out, web design is a lot more interesting when you have practically infinite customization options! Who could have guessed? I still have yet to build my own website from the ground up, but it’s something I would like to do at some point.
