Chapter 1 Summary

Module 1 covers the basics of using a web browser, not just to visit, return to, and save websites, but also to customize the browser to your liking through extensions, custom home pages, and so on. In particular, the chapter covers the functions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox. While I have used all three browsers at one point or another, my main browser is Firefox, so I figured the “Advanced Firefox Features” section would contain information I already knew about. That was, in fact, the case for the most part, but one thing I hadn’t thought to look at before was Firefox’s Library feature. The Library allows you to manage your bookmarks, browsing history, and downloads in one neat Windows File Explorer-style menu. This is helpful for me because I have an overwhelming amount of bookmarks, and nearly all of them are saved in the default “Bookmarks Toolbar” folder, making it difficult to find a specific bookmark quickly.
