Chapter 4 Summary

Module 4 covered the basics of how to effectively research, cite, and attribute content to its creator(s), as well as some rudimentary concepts regarding copyright and intellectual properties. As someone who does a lot of art and follows a lot of other artists on social media, I am no stranger when it comes to copyrighted material, especially when that copyright protection is being violated. I haven’t had my own art stolen (to my knowledge…), but it happens frequently enough to bigger, popular artists online that I can safely say anybody who creates things, especially intangible things like digital art or music, should know how copyright laws protect them, and how to avoid infringing on someone else’s copyrighted material (even by accident!)
